How do you detox?

Hello folks

I wondered if anyone had a special recommandation for detoxing the body.

If you look online, there is a lot of complicated recipies that contradict each other. 

Is it enough to just leave out meat, alcohol, caffeeine, processed foods, wheat and sweets? Can you make small exceptions (like eating a bit of bread or cheese)

What about salt? I need a high amount of salt at the moment.

Salt's ok, just don't use table salt which has been stripped of its' minerals. I use Celtic Salt....it has around 86 trace minerals needed by the body. If your adrenals are stressed, you would need more salt. It also helps my asthma so much, I don't need inhalers....at all!

I take 1/8 of a teaspoon, under my tongue to disolve. You will not taste salt at tip of your tongue and Celtic salt is not as 'salty' tasting. This is followed by drinking down a large glass of water...about 12oz...but I don't measure...some days I need more or less water. Anyway, salt won't build up if you chase with the water, which must be drank immediately after. You can do this through out the day. But very good first thing in morning to rehydrate.

I tend to have very low blood pressure and can get dizzy....so more salt helps with this.

For detox, I use 15 grams of powdered chlorella in large glass of water. Excellent detoxification, including heavy metals. It is so nutritious, theoretically, one could live on it. Also has anti-histamine properties. When taking, I find mixing and letting sit a few minutes, helps it to not clump....you can also do this 1st in morning as that us when body is most toxic. I take my salt under tongue before this drink too.

If taking vitamin C, avoid the vitamin at the time if ingesting chlorella, as vit. C can pull the heavy metals out of the binding process.

Chlorella also lends RNA and DNA.

PS: I do not think it is healthy to stress about food, if you allow yourself a few indulgences. For myself, meat and animal fats in my diet is needed. There are nutrients that one can't get from a plant based diet. I am a cro-magnum, with type O blood and find this better for me.

Plus, the bioavailability of nutrients from plants is not as good as many think.

Thank you for the tip with chlorella , I will try that - are chlorella pills as good as powder?
Thank you also for the interesting links - I'm a not so strict vegetarian eating sometimes small amounts of fish and meat but also vegan products. I thought though that you need to cut out meat and dairy products from your diet for during detox.

The pills will end up being very expensive as you need the 15 grams.

Here's US link which I find reasonable....don't know if they ship internationally....maybe since I read European prices high or no supply of certain supplements.
You can use the drink daily, 1st thing for ongoing detox. I don't stress my body with fasts. The chlorella is also source of essential fatty acids....When taking daily, I don't need a multi vitamin. And if you take vit D, it has the K2 needed.

@michelle I'm type O as well, but that doesn't work for me. I find that I need tofu, despite it being a goitrogen and having an autoimmune thyroid disorder, tofu helps me feel better, think better, & lose weight. I don't like meat. I have a negative, strange reaction to red meat, so don't eat it often. Eating meat regularly doesn't agree with me at all.

Unfortunately my BFF's son is extremely allergic to soy so I can't cook it in the house, another reason that I really need my own place. But yes, stressing about food isn't good. Well, stressing too much. Find what works for you and do that.
